RECIPE: MEXICAN STEW

Tere kena neljapäeva hommikut! Eile ärkasin dilemmaga peas, mida küll lõunaks süüa valmistada. Oli nagu millegi isu, aga mille...? Lõpuks nuputasin täpselt välja, mida tahan ning juhuks, kui kellelgi teisel on peas tühjus ja tahaks midagi uut proovida, siis all pool olev retsept on super duper maitsev ja väga lihtne valmistada. Alati mõtlen, et teen veidi rohkem, siis saan järgmisel päeval omale veel head-paremat üles soojendada, aga ikka juhtub nii, et magamaminekuks on kõik pannilt haihtunud.


Good morning and happy Thursday! Yesterday I woke up with a dilemma in my head, thinking of what to cook for lunch. I was graving for something good, but for what...? Finally I figured out all I needed was a lovely stew. So, if anyone else is wondering what to cook and head is empty of an ideas, you can find a super duper delicious recipe below, which is also very easy to make. I always try to cook a little more, so that I can warm up some of that yummyness the next day, but it never works as by the time of going to bed, everything has just disappeared from the pan.


3dl jasmiiniriisi
400g hakkliha (nt veise, aga mulle meeldib ka kalkuni oma)
400g purk tükeldatud tomateid
400g purk valgeid ube
200g maisi
suur peotäis porrulauku
soola-pipart
tšillipipart
paprikapulbrit

Esmalt pruunista hakkliha kuumal pannil. Lisa tomatid, oad ja mais ning lase tasasel tulel podiseda. Maitsesta endale meelepäraselt ning lisa hakutud porrulauk. Vajadusel lisa aeg-ajalt veidi vett, et vältida põhja kõrbemist. Aja jasmiiniriis sama koguse veega keema - st, et kui keedad 3dl riisi, siis lisa ka 3dl vett. Serveeri kuumalt ning soovi korral Cheddari juustuga, oivaline!


3dl jasmine rice
400g minced meat (e.g. beef, but I also like turkey)
400g canned and chopped tomatoes
400g canned white beans
200g corn
big handful of leek
salt-pepper
chilli powder
paprika

Firstly, fry the minced meat on a hot pan. Add the tomatoes, beans and corn, let it simmer on low temperature. Season as you like and add already chopped leek. If needed, add a little bit of water every now and then to avoid scorching. Build the jasmine rice with the same amount of water - e.g. if you boil 3dl of rice, add also 3dl of water. Serve hot with Cheddar cheese if desired, voilà!
